Dubai, An awe-inspiring place.

Dubai

Dubai cannot be described in one word. All the above adjectives describe this vibrant city. It’s a city with a vision which has transformed itself from a fishing & trading village into a cosmopolitan city known for its architecture, technology & innovation.
This Islamic city is progressive and warmly welcomes people from all over the world. The significant population here are of the ex-pats, the locals accounting to only about 15% of the total population.
Dubai is also hosting the World Expo in 2020, which is going to widen its opportunities.
Dubai is famed as a luxury tourist destination. Shahrukh Khan, the King of Bollywood, is the brand ambassador of Dubai Tourism.

From the many skyscrapers to the palm islands, it’s just incredible. These are the things you can explore out of the zillion things it has to offer. It is an entertainment hub & a tourist-friendly Emirate.

The following are the Must Do if you ever plan a trip to this City.

Day 1: Global Village, Dubai

Global Village Entrance, Dubai

I want to call this exposition as the whole world under one roof. It’s surreal to see many pavilions representing different cultures & countries. It is the largest tourism, shopping, food and entertainment hub with 90 participating countries. This cultural festival is seasonal & is open from October to April.

Some of the things to buy here:
• Honey from the Yemen Stall.
• Organic Shea Butter & Wooden Carvings from Africa
• Dates from the UAE Pavilion
• Saffron from Iran
• Fashion Accessories from China & Thailand

Day 2: The Dubai Frame

The Dubai frame welcomes you with the following Quote by Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Father of Dubai.

“The worthy man… is the one who works for the advancement & the future of his country & adds new glories to those achieved by his forefathers”

The Dubai Frame

The Frame gives a bird’s eye view of the old, present & future of Dubai
It is a golden rectangle with a view deck at the top wherein you can see the old Dubai on one side & the new Dubai on the other side. The view deck has a walkway in clear glass & for me, this was the best part of the Frame.

Day 3: Desert Safari

Dune Bashing at the Desert Safari

A trip to Dubai is incomplete without dune bashing and a sunset dinner in the desert camp relishing the traditional cuisine of Dubai. The camp has a whole lot of entertainment comprising of sand boarding, traditional dancing, belly dancing, henna artists, sand art, hukka and a sumptuous dinner buffet.

Day 4: Fountain Show @ 8.P. M -Dubai Mall

The Fountain Show outside the Dubai Mall is a delight to watch. This place is pretty crowded during the Fountain Showtime, so come early and pick a perfect spot to see the fountain dancing to the tunes of hit Bollywood and Hollywood numbers against the backdrop of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

Day 5: The Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi

You can also drive your way to the nation’s capital Abu Dhabi to visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. This majestic beauty attracts many worshippers and visitors every day. It took 11 years to complete the construction of this architectural marvel. It houses the world’s largest hand-woven carpet and also a chandelier embedded with one million crystals.

You can also head to “Wahat Al Karama” which is a war memorial & monument located across the Grand Mosque. The below capture of the entire mosque is clicked from this place.

Atlantis, The Palm

Out of the 23 restaurants in this wonderland, I choose to visit the “Wavehouse”. The ambience and the food here is great, and it’s a fun place to hang around, grab a drink, eat a delicious pizza/ pasta & click Instagram worthy pictures.

Day 7: Shopping

Dubai is a popular destination for the wealthy. The Dubai Mall is a one-stop destination for luxurious & high-end brands under one roof. It is the second-largest mall in the world which attracts a multitude of visitors’ every year & I wonder how many people shop in this place. This Mall is a shopping centre for the elite. For all the others, it is a leisure place to click a picture with the iconic indoor waterfall or visit the aquarium or check out the prices of the high-end brands. The brands which you have seen the celebrities wearing & wondering is it worth it.

Dubai Mall

For budget-friendly shopping, you can head to the following malls/ shops in Dubai
